Prompt engineering

The practice of designing, testing, and refining inputs to AI models so they produce reliable, structured, and contextually accurate outputs.

Prompt engineering is the discipline of crafting inputs (prompts) that guide LLMs toward consistent, useful outputs. In production systems, prompt engineering includes structured output schemas, few-shot examples, and guardrails — not just clever wording.

Reliable AI agents depend on prompt engineering plus architecture: validation, fallbacks, and human-in-the-loop review.
